Black Forest: Parisian Style

Most people think the Black Forest is located in Germany. But little do they know that it can be moved and transformed into an enchanted collection, as we saw this past week with the incredible Elie Saab Autumn/ Winter 2015 Collection in Paris. Not only did he manage to dazzle us with his usual charmed craftsmanship, but we also spotted one of our idols strutting her stuff down the runway (and in our favorite color too). If you didn’t know by now, it’s Karlie Kloss. Apart  from her cameo, the show itself was -per usual- breathtaking. It was an enchanted forest full of dark romance and subtle grace, with natural, flattering forms, deep colors, and soft textures that allowed this collection to transcend style across many genres of fashion. By combining the  clean-cut sophistication of Paris, the sleek coolness of New York, and the detailed embellishments of Milan, Elie Saab has managed to obtain a wide audience that everyone can connect to, and boy, have they. He is the new equivalent to Oscar de la Renta on the red carpet, and have you seen his wedding gowns? Sam and I have already planned our own weddings around his dresses. Here are a few thumbnails of our favorite looks from last week’s collection:

Happy International Women’s Day!

Hello March!

cover-lines-vogue-karlie-kloss-taylor-swift-march-2015

It is only fitting for the first post of this month to be Vogue’s March Power Issue with my favorite, my idol, the one and only Taylor Swift, and her best friend, Karlie Kloss. Yes I am a Swiftie and I have no shame. Taylor is the ultimate role model- the poster woman for Girl Power. She is on top of the world, literally. If you live under a rock, her recent album, 1989, (if you seriously have not heard of it or bought the album, you are inhumane- it is AMAZING, trust me. So after reading this, go get it and this month’s Vogue issue while you are at it- you won’t regret it I promise!) is the fastest moving record of the past decade, selling more than six million copies. Taylor is the first female in Billboard’s 56-year history to replace herself at No. 1. Not to be bias or anything, but everything that Taylor does is admirable. From her kick-ass, record breaking career, her songs, her generosity, her style, and her loyalty to not only to her fans but to her friends are all what I look up to and aspire to follow. The article in Vogue highlights the dreamlike friendship and careers of Taylor and Karlie- two powerful woman conquering their respective worlds together. Their friendship is the epiphany of all friendships- everything from unconsciously thinking alike and dressing the same to being loyal and there for each other. So for a little Monday inspo, I highly recommend you go pick up this article or head over to vogue.com and get a glimpse of kick-ass careers but more importantly an inspiring friendship.

Happy Monday loves!

Stay inspiring,

OUR FASHION OSCARS

The 87th Oscars was everything I imagined and more. From the moving speeches (Patricia Arquette for president?) to Julie Andrews surprise appearance and to our fave Eddie Redmayne winning Best Actor for his crazy outstanding performance in the Theory of Everything, it was surely a night to remember. And of course the fashion did not disappoint. Yes, there were big misses- it wouldn’t be an award season without it- but, those that did bring it to the carpet, brought it and killed it. Below are our fave stunners, who are worth mentioning, as well as Rita’s custom Vera Wang she wore during her performance because that gown deserves an Oscar of its own.

And of course we cannot forget about our fave leading men from last night. Just look at them…killer.

Stay classy,

S
