Most people think the Black Forest is located in Germany. But little do they know that it can be moved and transformed into an enchanted collection, as we saw this past week with the incredible Elie Saab Autumn/ Winter 2015 Collection in Paris. Not only did he manage to dazzle us with his usual charmed craftsmanship, but we also spotted one of our idols strutting her stuff down the runway (and in our favorite color too). If you didn’t know by now, it’s Karlie Kloss. Apart from her cameo, the show itself was -per usual- breathtaking. It was an enchanted forest full of dark romance and subtle grace, with natural, flattering forms, deep colors, and soft textures that allowed this collection to transcend style across many genres of fashion. By combining the clean-cut sophistication of Paris, the sleek coolness of New York, and the detailed embellishments of Milan, Elie Saab has managed to obtain a wide audience that everyone can connect to, and boy, have they. He is the new equivalent to Oscar de la Renta on the red carpet, and have you seen his wedding gowns? Sam and I have already planned our own weddings around his dresses.
